Calculating acoustic reflection and transmission coefficient

Hello,
I am profiling the refractive index of a materials with custom shapes for designing a acoustic metamaterial unit. The reflection coefficient and the transmission coefficient, mathematically can be derived as R = P(reflected)/P(incident) and T = P(transmitted)/P(incident). Which in COMSOL is R = acpr.p_s/acpr.p_b and T = acpr.p_t/acpr.p_b. But, in the application 'Acoustic Reflections off a Water-Sediment Interface' they demonstrate using Pin instead of acpr.p_b. Is there a reason to use Pin instead of acpr.p_b? Because I get non-physical values for using acpr.p_b (i.e. R>2).
Thank you. Akki.
