Particle tracing: prevent particles from disappearing before too many wall interactions

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello,

I would like to simulate a simple model of particles accumulating on a surface due to gravity with the particle tracing module. I use a General Reflection wall condition so that the particles lose velocity when they reach the surface from above. The problem with this approach in Comsol is that the number of particle-wall interactions diverges as the particles are attracted to the surface and Comsol makes them disappear in order to alleviate the computation time. Is there any way to change the particles' behaviour before they disappear in order to get an accumulation on the surface?

Thank you,

Alex
