hi ppl .. i am trying to model a furnace which is heated by radiation of mode of heat transfer .. but conduction and covection is also expected in the model . I am new to modeling as well !

the problem i face is as follows :

1. comsol has chosen the interior boundaries also as insulation . it is not letting me to over ride these BC . they are in fact interior boundaries due to different materials.

2. the condition i want to simulate is 24 heaters .. but in a front sectional view for simulation , only 2 heaters can be show . so should i make the flux to be 24 *Power of one heater / 2 for each i can see in my model. or just make it power rating for each heater / 2 .

3. air is inside the furnace which is not allowed to escape by insulating it with ceramic blocks ! so convection of air and conduction across various layers of insulators and radiation due to high Temp gradient
What all modules should i use ??

the best part is .. i tried simulating similar conditions , in case of a similar geometry .. i got ansers easily and i had none of the above problems . !

please help me out !

Hi

you would get better help if you tell us te version and physics used, and better post a (simplified) model

Any how when starting multiphysics cases: ALWAYS start simple add one physical phenomena at the time

Good luck
