Effective permittivity of a composite

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear all,

I am trying to determine the effective permiitivity of a two phase composite. The composite has two different materials having different permittivities.

For simplicity, I have taken a 2D unit cell (of permittivity = 1) having a circle (of permittivity = 3) in comsol. Physics used is electrostatics. Study is stationary. Potential at the top is 1V and bottom is grounded. But i am unable to apply periodic boundary conditions to it. Also, i am unable to calculate the effective permittivity.

As i am new to comsol modelling, could anybody suggest me about how to approach this problem in comsol?

Thanking you in anticipation.
