Hello everyone: I use Comsol for a little time, and recently, I'm interested in wave optics. I have finished the calculate of a 2D fiber. But I'm facing some problems about how to creat a 3D mode. I'm not able to calculate the neff of the ewfd. It will be great help if somebody can guide me to the desired results and tell me** how to use comsol to calculate the 3D fiber. ** * And can someone tell me how to creat a mode use two Physical field.* Thank you very much.

Hi 雁 周 ,

This makes me think about the directionnal coupler : https://www.comsol.fr/model/directional-coupler-14593 : to find a mode, a boundary mode analysis should be enough, or just an eigenfrequency study. If you want to create a mode, I think you could define a port and send a TE11 mode directly.

Best,

François
