Using phase field variables in equations for heat source and radiation for SLM process

I am trying to simulate SLM process (Selective Laser Melting). In my first model I use phase field feature and heat transfer in fluids feature and couple them and it works well. I need to add heat source from laser exactly on the phase interface, or more accurately, at the solid side of 2-phase interface. I use volume heat source and it works well, but I have problem with equation. How should I use phase field variables? What exact equation should I write to separate narrow region at the solid side of interface?
I try "psi" and "phipf" variables and derivatives of them but result is that only air side is heated when I use derivative and, expectedly, all the phase region is heated if I use phipf itself.
In the future I want to incorporate radiation explicitly, so any suggestions how to handle phase field or level set variables to describe radiation reflection and absorption effects on the phase interface are welcomed as well. I found many related papers, but details of comsol models are not clear.
Thank you.
