How to set a polarization wave？

Hi everyone，I’m just a beginner of comsol.Here I have some questions.
When I try to calculate a polarization beam splitter in ewfd,which can split a polarization wave into two parts,the TM and TE wave,I don't know how to set boundry conditions or which one of boundry conditions to choose.
How can I set a polarization wave in Comsol?
Or how can I get TM or TE waves independent?
