Couple ring resonators

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Dear All,

I faced a problem with selecting the right structure for my simulation. My aim is to simulate coupled ring resonators. I have previously used the axisymmetric approach for simulating a single ring resonator however now that I have two rings(or more) I can't use the axisymmetric. I also looked in to the noch filter example, and although it is very useful but still I believe beam envelope cant be useful in my case (since I need to perform the mode analysis, there will be no bus waveguide and input). I need to be able to calculate the effective index of refraction for the coupled ring structure and I want to avoid the 3d modeling. I tried the top view 2d simulation but the results are not correct.
