Using terminals and interpreting the capacitance matrix

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,

I have made a 2d axisymmetric model of an iron core with a given amount of turns around it. The turns are modeled as toroids or disks stacked on top of each other in one layer. This is a part (leg) of an inductor.

2D-model shown below as ascii, where the X is the core and the O is a winding turn.
_
X| O (turn n)
X| O (turn n+1)
X| O
X| O
X| O
X| O
X| O (turn N)

I have defined each turn as an independent terminal and the core as ground.
From that i can extract a capacitance matrix of all the turns, but what I really need is a lumped series capacitance.

What does the capacitance matrix really tell me in that respect ?
