Hello,

We are trying to install COMSOL 5.2 on our linux cluster, and get the following fatal FPE. The system is
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.2 (Santiago)
vmlinuz-2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64
redhat-lsb-4.0-3.el6.x86_64
glibc-2.12-1.166.el6_7.7.i686
glib2-2.22.5-6.el6.x86_64
gcc version 4.4.6 20110731 (Red Hat 4.4.6-3) (GCC)

What version of Java Runtime is required?

--thanks, Chris

Hello,

It is likely that the cause of this error is the lack of a graphics display during installation. You should use the non-graphical installer with a setupconfig.ini file, as described on p. 89 of the version 5.2 COMSOL Multiphysics Installation Guide.

You do not need to install any particular Java JRE, COMSOL installs its own Java JRE which is used to run the installer and COMSOL applications.

If you continue to run into difficulties, please send the complete log file to your support team.
