Symmetry planes for joule heating model

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi all,
I am trying to model joule heating. The model, for now, is just a strip of copper, with some thickness, sitting on top of the silicon substrate. I am using the joule heating physics module, and added ground on one side of the copper, and an electric potential on the other.
For this model, since it has symmetry I would like to build just one quarter of it and obtain results for the whole model. What boundaries conditions should I applied? I have used others software where there is choice for a symmetry planes.
Thanks
Leo

Hi Leo,
Presumably it's the insulation condition you're looking for.
A more detailed description, including a sketch showing the full geometry and the BCs on the full geometry, would be helpful.
Best,
Jeff
